This is an original linocut print, made in spring 2022, of a rainy landscape, inspired by a road trip I made from Bamburgh to Newcastle on a grey, drizzly day. The layers of misty fields stretching back were so beautiful, the seed of an idea for a new print was planted. It's not an exact replica of a specific place, just an idea of British countryside as experienced by me in Northumberland. I cut around 15 different blocks to make this print, so as you can imagine, it took a very long time to cut and print, not least because each layer needed over a week to dry before I could print the next.
I made 11 of these prints in a small, limited edition. Each print is numbered, named and signed on the paper and also on the mount, as I have mounted them up to the print edge. It is a varied edition, meaning that each print is slightly different (in terms of the colours used and the amount of texture printed on to the fields), making them all unique.
The prints have been made with oil based ink on Kent A4 paper and are sold mounted. The outside edge of the mount measures A4 size, for ease of posting.
The prints look great in a standard 16x12" size frame - but that, of course, is up to you.
