Ouseburn arches

This is a reduction linocut print of the bridges over the Ouseburn valley in Newcastle upon Tyne. It's a vibrant area full of traditional pubs and artists' studios. The print features the Byker road, rail and metro bridges, seen from beside the burn below.

A reduction linocut print is made by cutting and printing a lino block, then cutting more into that same lino block and printing, then cutting again into the same block, and so on. For this Ouseburn print I cut and printed 3 layers from the same block, hence the 3 different colours in the print. The reduction technique means that you can't go back a layer, or reprint new editions. The paper is Japanese kozo, a mulberry paper traditionally used for relief prints.

The original prints are 7x5" in size and are sold unframed, although they fit well in a 12x10" frame, should you want to frame them yourself. Each print is named, numbered and signed.

Delivery to all UK addresses is free. Prints are sold unmounted and are packaged in card-backed envelopes and are sent using Royal Mail, first class delivery. For packages needed urgently, or being sent abroad, please contact me directly before placing your order for postage options.
Orders will be processed within 5 days of receipt, although I do aim to dispatch as quickly as possible.
