This is an original linocut print of the lighthouse at the end of the pier at Tynemouth, in North Tyneside on the north east coast of England. The pier marks the mouth of the river Tyne, where it meets the North Sea, and its other half is at South Shields, on the opposite bank.
In windy or stormy weather, waves crash over the wall of the pier and I have many memories of being drenched while walking along here! Unfortunately, these days the pier is usually closed to pedestrians at the faintest whiff of a breeze.
I cut the lino block and printed it in black, using Cranfield ink, on beautifully smooth acid-free Kent 190 gsm A4 paper.
I printed a limited edition of 20 prints in this colour. As they are each made by hand, there will inevitably be very slight variations from print to print, in terms of ink coverage, although this is minimal.
Each print is named, numbered and signed by myself. Although the prints are sold unmounted, for the photographs, I have used a 16x12” frame.
Delivery to all UK addresses is free. Prints are sold unmounted and are packaged in card-backed envelopes. Cards and prints are sent using Royal Mail, first class delivery. For packages needed urgently, or being sent abroad, please contact me directly before placing your order for postage options.
Orders will be processed within 5 days of receipt, although I do aim to dispatch as quickly as possible.
If you would like your print to be framed, I can arrange this for you - just get in touch for a quote before placing your order.
