Grua meadow

I recently spent some time relaxing beside the most beautiful meadow full of dried seedheads and wild carrot flowers. It was bursting with life, full of insects, especially butterflies, and loads of birds pecking at the seeds. I took dozens of photographs of the various shapes of seedheads and spent a long time trying to work out how I could make a print to capture the haphazard, natural feel of the meadow. I finally decided that, instead of making my usual reduction prints, I would instead make multiblock prints, cutting each layer from a separate block and superimposing them. This meant I could print the overlapping forms of the stalks, seedheads and flowers in different colours and give a sense of depth by deepening the colour with each layer. I have always been fascinated by the architectural forms of seedheads and my house and studio are full of them, so it's nice to be able to celebrate some of them here.

This is an open, varied edition, with slight changes in colour between each print, making each one unique. The print itself is approximately 8x6" in size, on A4 paper. The prints are sold unframed, on beautifully smooth acid-free Kent paper. Each print is named, numbered and signed by myself.

Delivery to all UK addresses is free. Prints are sold unmounted and are packaged in card backed envelopes and are sent using Royal Mail, first class delivery. For packages needed urgently, or being sent abroad, please contact me directly before placing your order for postage options.
Orders will be processed within 5 days of receipt, although I do aim to dispatch as quickly as possible.
