Swaledale I

I love sheep! I have to admit to being scared of cows and always avoid them if possible when out walking. But if I'm in sheep country, I'm happy. I think it's because I'm a Yorkshire lass, it's in the blood.

This is a large reduction print of a Swaledale sheep. I wanted to abstract the background so that the focus was solely on the animal itself. This isn't always easy to achieve with linocut, so I used a monoprint technique, using sheep's wool to rub the ink onto the block and work up the blurry shapes in layers.

The print is 40x30cm in size, on paper cut to around 20x15", in a limited edition of  just 9. The prints are sold unframed, and are printed on 270gsm Bread and Butter paper. Each print is named, numbered and signed by myself.

Delivery to all UK addresses is free. Prints are sold unmounted and are loosely rolled in sturdy cardboard tubes, sent using Royal Mail, first class delivery. For packages needed urgently, or being sent abroad, please contact me directly before placing your order for postage options.
Orders will be processed within 5 days of receipt, although I do aim to dispatch as quickly as possible.
