Howay the Lads

This print, although very different from my usual scenes, is very dear to my heart. It depicts the special moments before Newcastle United kick off at St James Park in Newcastle upon Tyne. Blaydon Races is blaring from the tannoy, the crowd are cheering and chanting and the amazing Wor Flags are being waved in a sea of black and white. The view is from the Milburn Paddock, where I have my season ticket. I'm trying to conjure up an atmosphere here, rather than a place - it's the passion and the noise and the excitement I want to portray. And of course, it could only ever be printed in black and white!

This is an original linocut print cut from one single A3 block of lino and printed in black oil-based printing ink.

The prints sold here are all originals, each one is named, numbered and signed, in a limited edition of 50 prints. The print size is approximately A3.

As they are each made and printed by hand, there will inevitably be slight variations from print to print.
They are printed on beautifully smooth acid-free Kent 190 gsm A3 paper and are sold unmounted. For the photographs, I have used a 20x16” frame.

Delivery to all UK addresses is free. A3 prints are sold unmounted and are packaged in cardboard tubes and sent using Royal Mail, first class delivery. For packages needed urgently, or being sent abroad, please contact me directly before placing your order for postage options.
Orders will be processed within 5 days of receipt, although I do aim to dispatch as quickly as possible.
